However, I also agree that plain white rice and a hot dog are going to be scorned by most foodies.

So partly right and partly wrong ... means you are in the middle, like most of us! :-)Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11368767968953817531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4174606706448853915.post-72112789794199285982013-04-04T09:00:56.941-07:002013-04-04T09:00:56.941-07:00Magdalena, nothing wrong with growing fat as you a...Magdalena, nothing wrong with growing fat as you age! All we had was a loaf of bread. But that bread, toasted over a small fire, was the best bread I've ever tasted in my life.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05418255538047865459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4174606706448853915.post-14513797939383201392013-04-04T08:30:17.751-07:002013-04-04T08:30:17.751-07:00The above post is by poet Christina PacoszThe above post is by poet Christina PacoszD Goskahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09353495585591945881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4174606706448853915.post-53143725876960603852013-04-04T08:29:55.675-07:002013-04-04T08:29:55.675-07:00I am not a foodie either, though I have watched a ...I am not a foodie either, though I have watched a cooking show or two, but not lately. I cook without recipes unless I am attempting something new. Like tuna noodle casserole. I have a few thrift store utensils myself though I can't dumpster dive. My brother did. My mother's specialties were lemon meringue pie and banana cake, desserts she'd learned as a kitchen helper at a convent in Grosse Pointe. My dad taught us how to hunt for myszlaki. He grew gardens and raised fruit trees in Warrendale in Detroit. I don't like mushrooms to eat them but I love to hunt for them. Or once I did. No tramps through the woods for me. But I have my memories. Thanks for sharing yours, Danusha.
